HARWICH PORT, MA – August 23, 2023 – Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) today announced that Dr. Damian K. L. Archer willbe the community health center’s new Chief Executive Officer starting December 1, 2023. He will assume the position from retiring OCHS CEO Patricia A. He currently serves on the Committee on Diversity at the Massachusetts Medical Society and is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Tufts School of Medicine.

“In selecting Dr. Archer as our next CEO,  we knew that a physician would bring a unique perspective to leadership, grounded in an understanding of patient care and the intricacies of the healthcare industry,” said Larry Ballantine, OCHS Board Chair. “Research shows that physician-led healthcare organizations often exhibit better clinical outcomes, improve patient satisfaction, and high quality of care. We also knew that promoting Dr. Damian Archer to CEO will help our organization to advance health equity by setting a tone throughout our communities that strengthens our deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging.”

In a statement to OCHS staff, Mr. Ballantine also announced that OCHS’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Manuel “Manny” Pineiro, MBA, will assume the expanded role and title of CFO-COO of the organization beginning December 1, 2023.

“We are enormously grateful for Pat Nadle’s steady leadership of OCHS over the past eight years,” added Ballantine. “Her experience and wisdom will be vital during our three-month transition period ahead.”
