Matt Abar is an Urgent Care clinician in the Provincetown Health Center. In the fall of 2023, he retired as a full-time Physician Assistant-Certified after serving patients in that role for 35 years. A Massachusetts native, he moved to New York to attend college, then started his medical training while working on whale watch vessels in Provincetown over several summers. That job inspired his return to Cape Cod after he earned his Physician Assistant Certificate at Albany Medical College, Union University, in Albany, New York. Matt appreciates working in a community health center where he is able to address everything from everyday health concerns to complex medical issues,including the urgent care needs of visitors and patients.
