Massachusetts has asked for $1 billion from the new federal Rural Health Transformation Program — part of a potential $50 billion nationwide rescue fund — to dramatically expand telehealth, home-based care, and mobile medical services.
If approved, the funding could reshape access for rural communities — including Cape Cod — by strengthening the health-care workforce, upgrading clinics, and delivering care directly to patients’ homes or local mobile units.
