ACT NOW TO PASS STATE 340B PROTECTION LANGUAGE!

The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a lifeline for Community Health Centers. helping them fund critical services and providing lifesaving and life-changing affordable medications to patients who need them most.

Pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in recent years have found creative ways, through discriminatory contracting practices, to effectively take 340B savings from health centers and their patients and keep them for themselves. All while pharmaceutical manufacturers have unilaterally stopped shipping 340B priced medications to contract pharmacies, restricting patient access.

The Mass League has introduced a bill to the state legislature this session that would prohibit discriminatory contracting practices by PBMs (these protections have already been passed in 38 other states.) and prohibit pharmaceutical manufacturers from limiting the use of contract pharmacies (to date, 19 other states have enacted laws to protect contract pharmacy arrangements under the 340B program.)

On March 4th, The League and the MA Hospital Association hosted a joint briefing on the importance of the 340B program for safety net providers and to highlight our legislation.

Now we need health center advocates to take action! Contact your state legislators and urge them to support (H.4490/S.819) An Act prohibiting discrimination against 340B drug discount program participants.
