The Outer Cape Health Services Wellfleet Health Center, located at 3160 State Highway (Route 6), sustained damage after 9:30 a.m. this morning when a car drove through the lobby area facing Route 6. The individual in the vehicle has been transported to Cape Cod Hospital.

Other individuals that were in the lobby when the incident occurred are being evaluated. There are no staff injuries.

The Wellfleet health center has been evacuated and is being assessed for damage by Wellfleet building officials. All remaining appointments in Wellfleet are cancelled for today. Wellfleet police are investigating the accident.

Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) is in touch with our contractor to shore up the building damage in hopes of reopening as soon as possible this week. OCHS also operates health centers in Harwich Port and Provincetown.

We will update the community with further information on the Wellfleet reopening as soon as we have confirmation. Affected Wellfleet health center patients are being contacted regarding appointment cancellations and rescheduling. Calls to the Wellfleet health center are being routed to the OCHS Patient Access Center in Harwich Port. OCHS patients can reach us directly by calling the access center at 508-905-2888 or via their MyChart patient portal.
