Become a Patient

Once you become an Outer Cape Health Services Patient, you can benefit from our comprehensive and affordable healthcare, including primary, preventive, and urgent care services.

We welcome new patients to our two sites in Provincetown and Wellfleet.

Here are some valuable guidelines for new OCHS patients:

Register as a patient
To register as a patient, contact our Provincetown or Wellfleet Health Center to schedule an appointment. Please bring your medical records or have them sent to us prior to your appointment.

Send us your medical records
Help us treat you well by remembering to bring any medical information, records or current medication with you when you visit us.

In case of emergency, always dial "911"
In an urgent situation, such as a laceration, call one of our health centers and we will quickly guide you to the most appropriate care.
Provincetown: 508-487-9395, TTY 508-487-9414
Wellfleet: 508-349-3131, TTY 508-349-9103

Receive caring communication
We are committed to informative and concerned communication with our patients. We recognize our patients as people, not cases. Let us know if there is something you don't understand, and we'll take the time to listen and explain. We are happy to assist with interpreters, just let us know in advance so we can make your visit as easy as possible.

Get financial assistance if needed
If you cannot pay or are underinsured, you will still receive the care you require. Our Patients' Benefits specialists can help you find financial assistance. For eligible patients, medical services are available at reduced or no cost through grants and free-care programs such as MassHealth. In order to receive financial help, please apply for assistance at the time of registration.

Choose from a range of payment options
As a not-for-profit community health center we do, of course, appreciate payment when care is received. We accept most major insurance plans and participate in a number of managed care plans. However, no single plan is likely to cover all the services we offer. We suggest that you confirm with your insurer that you will be covered for a specific service before seeking treatment. OCHS can estimate the cost of services, but the actual cost will vary based on the specifics of your visit.
